It should be something that has meaning to you, could be almost anything. Just remember no names, unless it's of your kids  I, like Speedman have an Eagle Tattoo with the words BORN FREE - DIE FREE underneath it. I got this during the cold war era.....................

I too have an eagle on one shoulder that symbolizes freedom and I later had a flag and flames added to it that show my burning desire to maintain that freedom. On my other shoulder I have an indian head dress with each feather sybolizing priciples that I believe in and try to live by.
Obviously I too have only tats that mean something to me. I know several people who have ones that they got just because they liked the way they look. To each his own! I'm wanting more ink myself, but am waiting until I have more clarity about just what I want.

I see it as a form of self expression that has personal meaning just as Speed and Fatboy05 have said. I chose a collection of objects blended together. These objects hold special meaning in the journey of my life. A heart with a sea inside it. The waves and storms that my heart has lived through. A double edged sword because to gain, it seems I have always had to lose something that left it's mark. The major decisions have always been painful for me no matter what choice I made. Both cut like a knife. Woven in are the initials of my Daughters. The primary reason I survived the struggles of my youth and the joy of my life.
I'm sure there are folks who walk in a shop, look at some flash and say oh I want that. For me body art has a much deeper meaning. To each his own just make your choice with plenty of thought. It last forever.

Absolutely agree with the above.. I swore up & down I would never have a tatt.. then life dealt me some wicked times.. now I have a few to keep me aware of where I've been & what matters most...
That being said, my first tatt was a small bit of flash to see if I could handle it. That flash became the basis for one my kids designed. Good luck! |

Cheese:
If you need to ask - than do not do it. (not being rude, just know (concept, idea) what you need for you and find right artist Life is not forever - tatts are. Be clear and ride free. |

Cheese, my daughters designed one based on how they felt about an issue we had been thru.. it more than worked.. & I wear it proudly..
If I could wave the 'do-over' wand I would have had them all placed differently though.... |
