A group of bikers seeking money for a media campaign aimed at raising safety awareness among Casper motorists was denied support after being invited to apply for funding by Casper Mayor Kenyne Schlager.
Wyoming Central ABATE sought $30,000 from the city council's "community promotions" fund, which is a process that allows organizations to seek money and services from the city. After applications are weeded out in the first round, the council then decides how much money and services the city should allocate to each remaining organization.
