KENNEBUNK — The Board of Selectmen heard more about its options for controlling motorcycle noise Tuesday night.
Town Manager Barry Tibbetts told the board he had discussed the town's options with Kennebunk Police Lt. Nick Higgins and the town's attorney. One of the options they looked into, he said, was the town enforcing the Environmental Protection Agency label system on motorcycle mufflers. That, however, might be easier said than done, he said. "There are after-market mufflers that do meet EPA requirements and don't have stickers," Tibbetts said. Some communities have had to add second ordinances just to deal with that issue, Tibbetts said.
