ROSTRAVER TOWNSHIP - As a motorcycle enthusiast, Rocky Marks enjoys watching stunts and tricks. But as a motorist, husband and father, he doesn't want to see it on public roads.
"I don't want to be a part of your thrill," said Marks, the host of "On The Road with Rocky," an ESPN Radio show.
Just the other day, Marks was driving his family in their van when a motorcyclist passed on the right, with the front wheel in the air, before landing awkwardly in front of the van.
Luckily, the man didn't crash and no one was hurt, but the incident was on Marks' mind Friday when he spoke about motorcycle safety during a PennDOT news conference at Cerini Harley-Davidson/Buell in Rostraver.
"We're very concerned about the rising number of fatalities in our area," said Jay Ofsanik, the safety press officer for PennDOT District 12, which consists of Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties. "It is imperative we all learn to share the road safely."
