NEW CASTLE, Del. - August 21, 2009 (WPVI) -- Delaware State Police say a 46-year-old Newark woman was killed when the motorcycle she was riding collided with a car.
The crash happened at approximately 6:49 p.m. Thursday on Airport Road, adjacent to Commons Boulevard.
A 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Shelly L. Cox-Ellsworth, of Newark, was traveling eastbound on Airport Road approaching a curve in the roadway west of Old Airport Road. The motorcycle was driving at a high rate of speed and, according to police, Cox-Ellsworth failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway.
