Kids receive gifts from Vail area motorcycle club on first day of school
VAIL VALLEY Colorado As motorcycles rumbled up to June Creek Elementary, students cheered and waved. It sounds like fireworks! first-grader Niki Haviar cried. Riding Harleys and driving a shiny mini Cooper, a motorcade arrived at the school Wednesday to deliver $7,500 worth of school supplies. Members of the Cordillera Motorcycle Association have donated $21,000 to three Eagle County schools. Money funded school supplies for kindergartners and first graders at June Creek and Avon elementary schools. The motorcycle club also paid for a breakfast program for Edwards Elementary students.
