Montana Woman Marks 100th Birthday With Harley-Davidson Ride

MISSOULA, Mont. — A Missoula woman celebrated her 100th birthday with a ride through town on the back of a Harley-Davidson.

Centenarian Helen Self says she hasn't been on a motorcycle in five years, but that didn't stop her from climbing on the back of her son-in-law's and taking a spin through downtown Saturday.

Self, who lives with her granddaughter and helps look after five children, turns 100 on Monday.

Mayor John Engen has proclaimed Aug. 17 Helen Self Day in her honor.
