A community corrections term would be too lenient, they say.
Colorado - The family and friends of Gregory "Griz" Robinson believe the possible sentence for a man involved in the death of the biker is too lenient. On Tuesday, Robinson's widow and nearly 80 others made no secret of their objection to the possibility of a community corrections sentence for Juan Vasquez Maldonado, 48. Maldonado has pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor for letting his stepson drive the truck that killed the beloved biker. Robinson's family wasn't shy about expressing contempt for Maldonado either. "Griz's life was very meaningful, very important to us all," said Robinson's widow Denise. "Juan Maldonado's life is worthless. I've got to tell you Juan, I hate you." Denise Robinson gave an emotional speech to District Judge Thomas Flesher Tuesday that highlighted the severity of the family's loss and brought many of the supporters in the audience to tears.
