I have heard about motors being gassed, or washed with gasoline from a too rich mixture.
I am trying to find diagnostic information in print or picture. Does anyone have a lead to writen information on this problem? What I see is sharp rings, excessive cylinder wear, premature pin bushing failure. The entire bottom end is worn excessivly, but not much metal has been shed from the bearings or races. It just does not look like a typical bottem end that has worn out. This motor is a 69 shovel head with about 2,000 miles on what I thought was a good rebuild. |

Does it smell like it is running rich?
What do the plugs look like? Could it be an oil distribution problem, not getting in and around the piston? I am not a mechanic but I would think that unless you have gas contaminated oil due to gas washing past the rings it would be an oil distribution issue. Just my .02 cents. Welcome to the site! |

It is contaminated oil I am sure.
I just need something in print to show the owner just what we are looking at. I believe it is probably a faulty fuel petcock, which has leaked fuel into a standing motor. He just has a hard time with this diagnosis. |
