Default Digital Dip Stick

Just thought I would pass along the problems I have had with the HD oil level/ temp Gage dip stick. I have gone thru two of these in the last 2 months and they both have stuck on causing their battery to die. The first one was replaced under warranty but I think I will just get a refund on this one.
It is Touring model # 63046-07.
Thought you might want to know if you where thinking of buying one.

Hey guys, there are two of those gauges out.. The first one was out about two years ago and just measures temp. About a year ago they came out with the second one, it measures temp and oil level. The original one (just temp) works very well. This is the first time I have heard of the second one malfunctioning. I certainly would take it right back to the dealer and complain. Might just be a defective unit..

I find it strange to have two in a row do the same thing. I forgot to mention that the first one had a dead battery in it so it had probably stuck on before I even got it. I will let you know if I hear of anything on this issue.

BP, I do understand the two in a row part. Could have been a bad run though. I bought a new bug Zapper from Lowes two weeks ago, 1st one would not start up, took it back, 2nd one would run a minute or less and go out, finally got the 3rd one to go... I said WTF is going on here, and the saleperson told me that a bad bunch had come through. He checked the serial # on the 3rd, one and said I would not have any problem with it.. So far so good... The moral is that, they mess up too..

Not me I never make mistakes  The guy at the dealership is looking into it. I might just pull my air temp guage and go with a fairing mount oil temp guage.
