Default No Spark

OK guys looks like I fucked up something when rewiring my bike....I have no spark...the bike will crank but not turn over...so far I ahve...

Replace plugs
Tried to start it by attaching cable to a truck and my battery
Cleaned all the connections
I have continuity at the kill switch
I have continuity form the control modual to the coil
I started the bike by jumping direct from the battery to the coil

So somewhere I from the ignition to the coil, I am thinking I have a bad ground......but....

This is not my forte...so any "next steps" in finding the problem would be greatly

You rewired your bike so how extensive was the job, did you use a factory replacement harness or did you short wire it? Wiring stuff is the worst to diagnose over the internet :curse: What model is it Fubar?

I just extended the wiring for apes I put on Saturday. I had a cross over tube "Issue" so I fixed that today, and tried to crank it.

The connectors on my bike are between the tanks, so I first thought I must have done something in there....but I checked them all, cleaned them and still nothing.

It's a 92 fatboy

Not much to go wrong there unless you might have flipped the kill switch wires inadvertantly. It's easy to get stuff unplugged or loose between the tanks too and it's kinda hard to see it. When I get off in the a.m. I'll go over your wiring diagram and get back with you.

Thought about one more thing, make sure your kill switch isn't grounded under the housing cover and the handlebar. I have seen that one before.

Check for continuity from the pole at the kill switch with the gray wire to the pole on the 15 amp breaker with the gray wire on it. If you are good there check between the two poles on that same breaker with the ignition in the run position it should be hot. The white wire on the kill switch should have continuity from the pole on the kill switch to the bottom terminal on the coil. Likewise you should have continuity between the pole on the 15 amp breaker with the gray wire to the bottom terminal of the coill with everything in the run/start position. For shits and giggles check the brown wire from the 15 amp breaker opposite the gray wire terminal to the ignition switch. jiggle the switch a little while you check, the old ignition switches of that style were notorious for being junk and would sometimes break contact when they got a little worn. I'm gonna rack now after a long night, Let me know what you came up with.

ONe more quick question, the fact that I was able to start the bike by going directly to the coil from the battery.....what does that rule out as a potential problem....other then the battery and the coil??

Does this also tell me that I definitely have a possible fucked wire somewhere along this path.....
the battery, thru the main circuit breaker, thru the ignition switch, thru the ignition circuit breaker, thru the stop switch, to the hot side of the coil"
