I was just thinking on my ride home.
I wonder if it's possible to write a program for a GPS to measure your time and top speed in a quarter mile? All the information is there, speed distance and time. Write a program that starts the clock when it senses you moving then stop at the 1/4 mile mark. I know there'd be a delay, but hey, it'd still be fun. I've searched all through the 'Net looking for hacks. Anyone know anything about adding programs? |

Best bet, if you can not find anything online - go to the University near you or in most cases they have an online portal...and post your request. Some computer science student is bound to pick it up. Just a thought. Works here but I live in a University town so variables....come into play.

It already has a top speed in it. Just run the quarter mile, and when you hit the quarter, let off the fuel. Then check the top speed...
