Default JAVA

Got a question about Java.

When I get alerts that there is a new Java upgrade -- is there any reason under the Add/Remove programs section of windoze that I need to keep all the older versions?

I'm just not sure if one builds up the other ..? I have several of the updates I can see in the Add/Remove programs thing & dont want to frig it up by deleting them if they need to be there.

Thanks!!

Default Re: JAVA

Sun Microsystems' versions of Windows apps have always been messy. It wouldn't hurt to remove all of them - including the current version then going to java.com and downloading the latest version and installing it fresh.

Thanks Speedy. That sounds like the best idea. I did download the current rev. when I got the alert. Was just deleting some other old apps & thought surely that old java could go too.
