Linux, or even Mac OS X is a good choice. There is a lot of open source software for OS X, which is UNIX under the hood. You couldn't pry my wife's Macbook out of her hands if you tried.

The new macs with OSX are nice. I just loaded a couple up the other day at work. If you don't have to tweak them for work they are really nice. Man it almost makes me want one. And they are reasonably priced. And if you are not to PC savvy they are pretty easier to maneuver around in and fix. But thats jmo. :smile:

They are very reasonably priced. I am waiting for the next gen Macbook Pro and will be buying one as soon as they are available.
