InstantShot - screen shot utility.

VMware Fusion - virtual machine for running multiple operating systems.

AppUpdate - dashboard widget for keeping applications up to date.

iStatPro - dashboard widget for monitoring your system.

MenuMeters - panel applets for monitoring your system.

WeatherBug - the best dashboard widget for weather.

Deep Sleep - dashboard widget to hibernate your Macbook.

Chicken Of The VNC - native VNC client.

smcFanControl - manually adjust the fans on your Macbook to cool it down faster.

VLC - media player that supports almost every audio and video codec in existence.

I'm seeing Macbooks pop up everywhere I go these days and I know there are a few of us here using them. An updated list of cool apps in one place will be a good thing.

Very cool. In my world, the best work is done on a MAC and is the industry standard. It can seem intimidating but it really is not. The big thing for me - for making the switch was the cost. Not the cost of the system...the cost of getting all the software I need and used on the PC over to MAC. So it took a few months but well worth it. All works out in the long run.

Hey, just thinking now - you know the idvd program. I have used it often (and has made some very nice cash flow and "wow" appeal) to some projects I have done - however I am wondering is there some place to go for new templates or create your own type of thing?

That's a good question. I haven't used iDvd much. Maybe Mungo has.

iSlayer just brought out a new app called iStat Menus ... it kicks ass over menu meters mentioned above.

Get it here.
